Paper Bag Monster Puppets with Kerry

This week Kerry came back to the Preps to teach art, performing art and literacy while Jennah and Kellie had time to plan for next term. Together we read "Inside Mary Elizabeth's House" by Pamela Allen. The moral of the story: It's not nice to tease people... and you might get eaten by a monster if you do! We did some monster dancing, wrote some monster language, and made these wonderful paper bag monster puppets.

Thanks for a lovely time together, Preps!

Spare Pants & Underwear

Dear parents and caregivers,

Unfortunately, we have nearly run out of spare pants and underwear again. We have had many Preps return these items, but some haven't been returned and we are in urgent need of these being bought back, otherwise we will be unable to provide them to students.

It would be helpful if students could keep their own spare pair of pants/underwear in their bags or tubs, that way they will always have a change and we won't need to call parents to bring in spare clothing.

Also, if you have any spare pants to donate that would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

The Prep Team

Rangoli

Yesterday, during Integrated Studies, the Preps learnt about rangoli. A rangoli is a colourful design made on the ground (using colourful rice) in the front of a house to welcome guests during celebrations, such as Diwali in India. The Preps made their own rangoli design on a piece of paper, after discussing the use of patterns, colours and shapes in rangoli designs. Students then went outside and drew their designs on the concrete outside the Prep area.

Book Week Celebrations

Today, the students at Moreland Primary School celebrated book week. Students participated in the parade and found out which book won each book of the year category . Shortly after, the Preps meet up with students from the senior school and completed book week activities. The Wombats listened to the story “Piranhas Don’t Eat Bananas” by Aaron Blabey and then made their own piranhas with help from students from the PBL program.

Lastly, thank you to all of the parents who helped with the pizza lunch. It was delicious!
